Recently, I went to Tianjun county in Qinghai province again on vacation. Its majestic natural beauty and diversity of wild animals fill me with astonishment and longing. As it happens, Tianjun county is also a recipient of Ningbo’s poverty alleviation program. On the hillsides of Tianjun, herds of bharal (blue sheep) are frequently seen. They are a Class-II protected species in China and a major prey of the snow leopard. Blue sheep can walk and hope with ease on steep cliff-sides. What fascinating creatures!
