A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 struck southeast Turkey, near the Syrian border, at 4:17 a.m. local time, becoming breaking news in the early morning.

2月6日，当地时间4时17分，土耳其东南部、靠近叙利亚边境的区域发生了一场7.8级的剧烈地震，成为周一上午的突发新闻。

Ningbo is a city with thousands of international trade businesspeople, some of whom were in Turkey when the earthquake struck. Erdem, an executive of Ningbo Mascube Import & Export Group and a Ningbo Overseas Communication Officer, recently returned to his hometown of Bursa, Turkey's fourth-largest city, with his Chinese girlfriend, Mei Lei, to look for business opportunities.

作为一座港城，宁波有成千上万人从事外贸生意，其中就有一批外贸人正在土耳其出差。宁波外贸企业美博集团的土耳其高管Erdem是宁波海外传播官。近期，他和中国女友梅蕾回到他的家乡——土耳其第四大城市布尔萨，以寻找商机。

"I heard the news about the earthquake as soon as I woke up in the morning. Fortunately, we were not affected by the earthquake because Bursa is located on the west coast of Turkey, far away from the epicenter.” Erdem declared that he was fine and appreciated everyone’s concerns.

“今天早上我一醒来，就看到了地震的新闻。幸运的是，我们没有震感，因为我们所处的布尔萨在土耳其的西边，离震中有很长一段距离。”当被问及情况如何，Erdem表示他一切平安，非常感谢大家的关心。

Erdem told Ningbo Evening Newsthat he had received hundreds of messages from people concerned about his safety. He replied to each one with words of thanks. He plans to continue his original itinerary in Turkey, visiting clients and friends across the country.

Erdem告诉宁波晚报记者，他收到了上百条询问他是否平安的信息，并带着谢意逐一恢复。接下来，他会继续按照计划拜访土耳其西部的客户，并确认他在土耳其各地的朋友们是否一切安好。

"The earthquake, which lasted over 90 seconds, affected some of my clientsin the eastern part of Turkey. Their factories'machines were damaged. It may take some time to repairthem. We will return to Ningbo in the third week of February and hope that our clients bounce back soon from the disaster,” saidErdem.

“我们有一些地处土耳其东部的客户经历强烈的震感，持续时间长达一分半。他们工厂的设备遭受损坏，需一段时间修理。我们将在2月的第三个星期返回宁波，希望我们的客户能尽快从这场灾害中恢复。”Erdem说。

"This is my first time seeing snow in Turkey. Despite the cold outside, I felt extremely warm when I received kind messages from my friends in China. I pray the snow brings blessings to the people ofTurkey!" Mei Lei also shared her best wishes via WeChat.

“这是我第一次在土耳其看到雪。尽管窗外寒冷，但我心里感到非常温暖，因为许多在中国的朋友向我发来问候！希望这场雪能保佑土耳其人民平安。”梅蕾也在朋友圈表达了祝福。
