As the 19th Asian Games draws closer, the sports atmosphere and enthusiasm in Ningbo have reached new heights. Ningbo became known as "The City of Olympic Champions" after five of its athletes won gold medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. This success would not have been possible without the dedication of several generations of athletes and the city's commitment to sports development over the past few decades.

站在人群里，2.1米的Bojan Popović（中文名：波普）总是特别显眼。他来自鄞州区福明街道明城社区，是Arena未来儿童艺体中心的篮球项目发起人及明星教练。
40-year-old Serbian expat Bojan Popović (Chinese name: 波普) stands out in the crowd with his towering height of 2.1 meters He lives in Mingcheng Residential Community, Fuming Subdistrict, Yinzhou District. Bojan is the founder and star coach of the basketball club Glocal Arena.
他今年40岁，来自塞尔维亚，出生在一个运动家庭。他的父亲曾是塞尔维亚一名专业的手球运动员，而他则是专业篮球运动员。父子俩斩获了大大小小101块奖牌，波普曾代表塞尔维亚U16国家队获得欧洲锦标赛银牌。他拥有16年的职业篮球经历，曾在多个国家荣获最佳球员和MVP等个人奖项。
Bojan, a professional basketball player with 16 years of experience, comes from a family of athletes. His father was a professional handball player in Serbia. Together, father and son have brought home 101 medals. Bojan was a member of the U16 Serbian national team that won silver at the European Championship. He has been crowned with the prestigious titles of MVP and Best Player in several countries..
“在一场比赛中，我一个人就拿到了48分，全场都在为我欢呼。”说起自己的篮球经历，波普嘴角上扬，脸上的表情都变得生动起来。他7岁开始接触篮球，展现出了惊人的天赋，16岁时就加入塞尔维亚国家队，征战各类赛场。
Bojan recalls his past success with fondness. “Once, I scored 48 points by myself in a game. The whole stadium went wild for me.” He began playing basketball when he was seven years old, immediately demonstrating remarkable talent. At the age of sixteen, he was selected for the Serbian national team.
因为职业的关系，波普去过13个国家打球。2019年，受朋友邀约他来到宁波，成立篮球俱乐部，从一名职业篮球运动员变成明星篮球教练。目前，俱乐部有200多名学员，年龄集中在4—14岁，75%都是中国学员。
Over the past 16 years, Bojan hascompeted in thirteen nations. In 2019, he became a prominent basketball coach after receiving an invitation from his friends to establish a basketball training club in Ningbo. There are currently over 200 members in the club, ranging in age from four to fourteen. 75% of the members are Chinese.

在孩子们中间，波普教练看起来就像一个巨人。篮球场上，他正在耐心演示如何运球、投篮。在他手里，篮球就像一个听话的精灵，在空中划出一道优美的弧线。在孩子们的惊呼声中，球稳稳落在篮圈内。
On the court, Coach Bojan towers over the youngsters. Patiently, he shows the children how to dribble and shoot the ball. With one smooth motion of his arms, the ball traces a graceful arc in the air before falling cleanly through the hoop. The children exclaim with admiration.
“孩子们都很喜欢我，他们叫我‘波普教练’。看到我去上课，他们都连连惊呼。”波普用手比划着，向记者模拟孩子们惊讶的表情。孩子们都喜欢上波普的篮球课，他总是那么风趣幽默，把实用的篮球技能融入游戏中，一堂篮球课变得妙趣横生。他希望，把自己对篮球的热爱和技巧传递给他们。教师节的时候，孩子们会给他偷偷塞礼物，一盒手工饼干，或是一颗糖果，却让波普感觉到暖意。“他们就像是一群天使。”
"The kids love me. They call me ‘Coach 波普’ and always look forward to my classes," said Bojan, imitating the children’s excited expressions and gestures. The children enjoy Bojan’s humor and appreciate the way he imparts basketball skills through fun games. Every class is full of joy and laughter. Bojan’s goal is to share with the children his love for the sport, as well as actual techniques. On Teacher's Day, the children would prepare gifts for Bojan: a box of homemade cookies, a piece of candy. These simple gifts fill Bojan’s heart with warmth. “They are just like little angels.”

“运动就是我的生命，篮球就像是流淌在我身体中的血液一样。”波普说，篮球是塞尔维亚的一项国家运动，有着浓厚的篮球文化，诞生了塞尔维亚男子国家篮球队这样的顶尖球队，很多人活跃在NBA的舞台上。来中国的这些年，他发现，中国人和塞尔维亚人一样喜欢篮球，拥有很多超级篮球迷。“现在，篮球在中国越来越受欢迎，中国篮球正在走向国际化。”
"Sports ismy life, and basketball is in my blood." According to Bojan, basketball is the national sport of Serbia. With a culture that is passionate about basketball, Serbia has one of the best men's national teams in the world. Many Serbian athletes compete in the NBA. During the yearsin China, Bojan discovered that that China also has a huge community of devoted basketball lovers who love the sport just as much as Serbians do. "Basketball is gaining popularity in China. Many Chinese basketball players are earning a name for themselves internationally."

这次杭州亚运会，他充满期待。这段时间，他经常在东部新城看到亚运会的各种元素，这座城市正在以极大的热情拥抱这场盛事。“亚运会不仅是一场体育盛会，还是一场文化盛宴，是中国文化的输出，让更多的人来宁波，感受宁波这座城市的魅力。”波普告诉记者，本月下旬他将参与宁波千名老外、百个社区（村）迎亚运接力跑活动，福明街道还将举办鄞州站的开跑仪式，届时他和他的朋友都会参与接力跑。“我们会以奔跑的姿态迎接亚运会，欢迎更多的朋友来宁波看亚运！”
Bojan is looking forward to the upcoming Asian Games. He has noticed many billboards carrying enthusiastic slogans for the Games around Eastern New Town. "The Asian Games are both a sporting and a cultural event. It is a great opportunity for China to share its culture and for Ningbo to attract more visitors with its charm." Bojan tells the correspondentthat he and his friends have signed up for a relay race across Ningbo in celebration of the Asian Games, due to happen later this month. Fuming Subdistrict, where Bojan’s home is, will be the starting point of the race’s Yinzhou leg. "By participating in the race, we hope to demonstrate our support and excitement for the Asian Games. I look forward to welcoming friends from all over the world at Ningbo for the Games!"
